Comedy Bio

David Angelo was fortunate enough to find success very early on in his comedy career. Shortly after he started performing, David won the DC Improv's monthly standup contest. Later, while living in Chicago, David co-hosted a popular comedy talk show on internet radio that regularly trounced Quincy Jones' podcast in the ratings. In 2006 David was nominated for a Chicago Comedy Award in the category of "Most Innovative Comedian." Shortly after losing that award, David produced a one-man-show that was a smash hit, praised by Time Out Magazine, and financially profitable! Now living in New York City, David continues to perform, write, produce videos, appear on radio, and update his website www.davidangelo.info (while reluctantly acknowledging the "dot info" ending was a judgment error). He has performed in colleges and clubs all over the nation, was a featured comic at the DC Comedy Festival, and can be heard regularly on XM Radio.

The pedagogics of David Angelo's overtly didactic comedy style have been described as: "faithful to the metaprescriptives of primal humor," "emphatically dening the disequilibria of shared experience," and "outright rejectionalist in respect to the traditionally triptych construction of jokes." His teleological analysis of everyday events is a fresh approach to the ordinary -- as are his aphorism concerning wide ranging topics from relationships to ex-girlfriends. Generally, he is obnoxious in casual conversation. Credits include XM Radio, The Improv, The Lincoln Lodge, The Elevated, and Edge Comedy.

David was nominated The Mark Sinclair Memorial Award for "The Most Innovative Comedian" at the 2007 Chicago Comedy Awards.
